Science Clubs and science literacy: conceptions by coordinating teachers in the public schools from the city network in Blumenau (SC)

Apresentamos uma pesquisa com o objetivo de conhecer e analisar as concepções que cinco professores possuem sobre os Clubes de Ciências que coordenam, na Rede Municipal de Ensino de Blumenau (SC). Além disto, conhecer abordagens metodológicas e avaliativas, além de identificar as dificuldades para o desenvolvimento das atividades. Utilizamos como instrumento de coleta entrevistas semiestruturadas, gravadas, transcritas e analisadas a partir de quatro categorias de análises. No que diz respeito à suas percepções, entendemos que os cinco professores têm cultivado um conjunto de ideias adequadas, no entanto, percebemos fragilidades no que se refere às questões relacionadas ao “fazer ciência”, como atividade construtiva pelos estudantes, além da necessidade de aprofundarem questões sobre a avaliação, bem como suas concepções sobre ciência.
We present a study aiming to understand and analyze the conceptions five teachers have about the Science clubs they coordinate in the Public School Network, in the city of Blumenau (SC). In addition, we aim at understanding the methodological and evaluative approaches and identifying the difficulties for the development of the activities. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data, being such interviews recorded, transcribed and investigated according to four categories of analysis. With regard to their perceptions, we understand that the five teachers have grown an appropriate set of ideas. However, we noticed some weaknesses in regard to issues related to "doing science" as a constructive activity by the students, besides the need to deepen questions on evaluation and their conceptions on science, as well.
