Investigative experiments with the theme soft drink in science teaching

Este artigo tem por objetivo discutir sobre a execução de experimentos investigativos, a partir da temática refrigerante, junto aos alunos de duas turmas de 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola particular do interior do Estado de São Paulo. Foram desenvolvidos três experimentos: um com a garrafa de refrigerante tipo Cola fechada, outro com a garrafa aberta e adição de sólidos ao refrigerante e, por fim, com a adição de um comprimido efervescente em água, visando diferenciar a ocorrência de uma reação química e de misturas. Destacamos o grande interesse dos alunos tanto na realização dos experimentos como na busca de explicações científicas para as hipóteses e aos fatos observados. Dessa forma, os experimentos investigativos favoreceram a aprendizagem dos conceitos pelos alunos, já que proporcionaram oportunidade de reconstruir suas ideias e incorporar outras.
This article aims to discuss the implementation of investigative experiments based on soft drinks, along with students from two classes of 9th grade of a private elementary school in the state of Sao Paulo. Three experiments were designed: one with a closed full Cola bottle, other with a full opened bottle and adding solids to the beverage and, finally, with the addition of an effervescent tablet in water, aiming to differentiate the occurrence of a chemical reaction and mixtures. We highlight the great interest of the students in the experiments as well as in the search for scientific explanations for the assumptions and observed facts. Thus, the investigative experiments favoured the learning of concepts by students, providing them opportunity to rebuild their ideas and incorporate others.
