Science in The Kitchen: Food Reproduction - Nothing Is Lost Everything Is Transformed

Resumo

O projeto sobre “Reaproveitamento de Alimentos: nada se perde tudo se transforma” foi uma proposta discutida na disciplina de Ciências Naturais no Ensino Fundamental I do Mestrado Profissional em Ensino de Ciências, onde se evidencia a Alfabetização Científica discutida nessa abordagem. Esse trabalho faz parte de um projeto de intervenção aplicado em uma escola municipal de Boa vista – RR sobre a questão do desperdício de alimentos e como manter uma alimentação saudável através de alimentos que são descartados durante o seu preparo, como talos, sementes e cascas. Participaram desse projeto 27 alunos do 4º ano do Ensino Fundamental, onde se descreve o interesse de uma alimentação saudável e relata a importância de se aproveitar o alimento integralmente. A metodologia envolveu os conhecimentos prévios da turma, exposição de vídeos e degustação de alimentos. Os alunos constataram que podemos obter uma alimentação saudável através de alimentos que não são aproveitados integralmente e que eles contêm muitos benefícios para a saúde. O projeto se mostrou muito significativo para as crianças, que se envolveram e se sensibilizaram com a reflexão sobre uma alimentação mais saudável.

Abstract

The project on "Food Reutilization: Nothing is lost becomes all transformed" was a proposal discussed in the discipline of Natural Sciences in Elementary School I of the Professional Master in Science Teaching, where it is evident the Scientific Literacy discussed in this approach. This work is part of an intervention project applied at a municipal school in Boa Vista - RR on the issue of food waste and how to maintain a healthy diet through food that is discarded during its preparation, such as stalks, seeds and bark. This project involved 27 students from the 4th year of elementary school, who describe the interest of healthy eating and report the importance of using the food in its entirety. The methodology involved the previous knowledge of the class, video exposure and food tasting. Students have found that we can get a healthy diet through foods that are not fully utilized and that they contain many health benefits. The project was very significant for the children, who got involved and became sensitized with the reflection on a healthier diet.
