From action-research to participant research: discussions from an investigation developed on the Facebook

O presente artigo tem por objetivo discutir a pesquisa-ação e a pesquisa participante, a partir de um estudo desenvolvido na rede social Facebook, a fim de trabalhar com alunos do Ensino Fundamental os números racionais. O Facebook pode ser utilizado em cursos a distância, mas também em cursos presenciais, como uma extensão da sala de aula, devido as possibilidades que o mesmo apresenta, que o fazem ser considerado um Ambiente Virtual de Aprendizagem. Nesta investigação, a rede social foi utilizada com alunos do sétimo ano para desenvolver uma pesquisa-ação. Método, esse, que vem crescendo na área da Educação, porém ainda é muito confundindo com a pesquisa participante. O trabalho discute os dois métodos citados, apresentando características comuns, bem como particularidades de cada um, situando a investigação desenvolvida no método de pesquisa-ação. Conclui-se que a pesquisa-ação foi o método mais apropriado tendo em vista que o professor enquanto pesquisador da sua prática, teve a oportunidade de construir conhecimentos para aperfeiçoá-la e contribuir para melhorar os resultados de aprendizagem em matemática na turma investigada.
This paper aims to discuss the action-research and the participant research, based on a study that was developed in the social network Facebook, for the purpose to work with Elementary School students the content named rational numbers. The Facebook can be used in distance courses, but in face-to-face courses too, as an extension of the classroom, this because of the possibilities that Facebook presents, which make it be considered a Virtual Learning Environment. In this investigation, the social network was used with seventh grade students in order to develop an action-research. This method has been growing in the area of Education considerably, but it is still very confused with the participant research. The paper discusses about both methods mentioned, for this it shows common characteristics and particularities of each one, like this it considering the research developed here in the action-research method. It was concluded that action-research was the method most appropriate, it considering that the teacher while a researcher of his practice, had the opportunity to build knowledges in order to improve it, and the teacher contributed to qualify the learning in mathematics in the class who went investigated.
