Abstract

This article results from a qualitative research that was developed with students from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Tocantins (IFTO), Palmas campus in Tocantins, with students from the third and fourth years of technical secondary education. The research sought to investigate how integrated experimental and computational activities influence the students attitudes and motivations regarding electromagnetic induction classes. For the data collection, an initial questionnaire was used, Predict, Observe and Explain (POE) guides during the activities, a field diary, photos, video recordings and a final questionnaire. The obtained data indicate that: a) In the initial questionnaire it was possible to identify that the students possessed the knowledge necessary to introduce the subject of electromagnetic induction. b) The material developed and proposed in this practice made it possible to promote cognitive engagement and interaction between students and instructional resources; c) The students showed more interest in the classes, besides seeming more curious; d) With the classes involving experiments and simulations, students began to participate more, began to interact, discuss and question.
