Evaluation through Conceptual Maps in a Physics Discipline in the Mechanical Engineering Course

Neste artigo, relatamos uma experiência bem-sucedida de utilização de mapas conceituais como instrumentos de avaliação da aprendizagem na unidade temática sobre eletrostática, em uma disciplina de Física Geral no curso de Engenharia Mecânica, em uma instituição de ensino privada da região metropolitana de Porto Alegre. Através da construção dos mapas conceituais o professor tem condições de identificar como o conteúdo está organizado na estrutura cognitiva do aluno. As versões finais dos mapas conceituais elaborados pelos discentes demonstram um crescimento a nível conceitual, além do estabelecimento correto das relações e hierarquias entres estes conceitos.
This article reported a successful experience of concepts as an instrument of evaluation of the learning in the thematic unit on the electrostatic, in a course of Mechanical Engineering, in a private educational institution of the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre. Through the construction of conceptual maps, the teacher is able to identify how is organized in the students cognitive structure. As the final series elaborate concepts for the students demonstrate a growth in conceptual level, besides the creation of relations and hierarchies enters these concepts.
