Abstract

This paper is the result of part of a broad research about the previous conceptions of elementary school students related to the microorganisms in aspects that involve the decomposition. The study is relevant because it involves important issues concerning the Environmental Education such as recycling practices of materials that can be articulated to the compression of bio-geochemical cycles and the role of microorganisms in this process. The study points out that there are several incoherencies in the student?s conceptions which are related to scientific knowledge and can interfere in the learning of concepts about the environment.
