Webquest: an experience in the discipline of integral and differential calculus with students of the chemistry course

Este artigo relata uma experiência do trabalho com uma WebQuest na Disciplina de Cálculo Diferencial e Integral. A WebQuest foi desenvolvida pela docente e por uma aluna de monitoria. Antes de relatar a experiência, apresentam-se considerações sobre a inserção das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação no ambiente acadêmico e o papel do Cálculo no curso de Química. Na WebQuest a tarefa dos alunos consistiu em pesquisar o desenvolvimento do conceito de derivada e suas aplicações. Durante o desenvolvimento do trabalho fez-se uma sondagem das impressões dos alunos sobre a tarefa proposta. Para eles, foi uma atividade diferenciada; um dos alunos relatou que pela primeira vez solicitaram a ele produzir um texto nas aulas de Matemática. Eles também indicaram a importância de conhecer o desenvolvimento histórico do conceito de derivada. Os alunos relataram que encontraram com certa facilidade a aplicação de tal conceito na Química.
This article tells an experience of the work with a WebQuest in the discipline of Integral and Differential Calculus. The WebQuest was developed by the teacher and a pupil of monitoria. Before telling the experience, considerations on the insertion of the Technologies of Information and Communication in the academic environment and the role of Calculus in the Chemistry course are presented. In the WebQuest the task of the pupils consisted of searching the development of the derivative concept and its applications. During the development of the work a survey of the impressions of the pupils regarding the task was done. For them, it was a differentiated activity; one of the pupils said that for the first time he was requested to produce a text in the mathematics classes. They had also indicated the importance to know the historical development of the derivative concept. The students also told that they had found a certain easiness in the application of such concept in chemistry.
