Socialscientific subjects (milk) in chemistry lab classes in professional education: a STS approach

Apresenta-se os resultados de uma pesquisa qualitativa ?estudo de caso?com turma de 36 alunos da 3a série do ensino profissional técnico de Química integrado do CEFET-MG nas aulas práticas de Química Orgânica Aplicada utilizando temas sociocientíficos (TS) com enfoque CTS. Analisou-se as interações entre professor e alunos, a didática do professor e a postura dos alunos buscando registrar a percepção do aluno sobre abordagem metodológica adotada, as atitudes, valores e habilidades adquiridas. Ao final, confirmou-se enfoque CTS em TS como fonte fecunda para análise do processo educacional dos cursos de educação profissional técnica de nível médio, com potencialidades transformadoras.
The findings of a case study qualitative research are presented. The study was carried out with a group of 36 students from the third year of an integrated chemistry course of the CEFET-MG, Brazil, in lab classes of Applied Organic Chemistry using socialscientific subjects under a STS approach. The interactions between teacher and students, the teacher´s didactical strategies, and the students´ positions were analyzed searching for records of students´ perceptions regarding the methodology used, as well as of their attitudes, values, and acquired abilities. At the end the STS approach to socialscientific subjects was confirmed as a fertile source for the analysis of professional technical education at high school level, with transforming potential.
