Is it possible to break the coolness of human anatomy teaching?

O ensino do componente curricular Anatomia Humana é caracterizado pela divisão entre aulas teóricas, normalmente expositivas, e aulas práticas realizadas em laboratórios, privilegiando a transmissão de saberes em detrimento da construção do conhecimento. O objetivo deste trabalho é descrever uma estratégia metodológica de ensino para este componente curricular, baseada no método de trabalhos globais, a partir das vivências no curso de Licenciatura em Biologia da Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia. O emprego deste método globalizador possibilitou dar outro significado ao ensino de Anatomia Humana, identificado normalmente por um ensino livresco, distante da realidade do estudante e de sua futura prática profissional. Ademais, são apresentados relatos dos alunos e exemplos de produtos dos projetos desenvolvidos.
The teaching of human anatomy, as part of a curriculum, is characterized by two kinds of classes. One kind concerns with theory, usually traditional classes, and the other kind refers to practical classes. The latter is held in laboratories. Both focus on the transmission of knowledge, not on activities which should be developed in order to build knowledge. The objective of this paper is to describe a new teaching strategy used in the teaching of human anatomy, which is based on global works through experiences developed in the Biology Course of the Federal University of the Reconcavo in Bahia, Brazil. The use of this global methodology made it possible to give another meaning to the teaching of human anatomy, which is usually book-based and far from the real overview of the students and far from their future professional practice. In addiction, reports and examples of products developed by students are presented in this study.
