Recreation as a methodological tool to address sexuality and gender in Early Childhood Education

Corpo, gênero e sexualidade estão presentes em todos os momentos e em todas as atividades e interações escolares e não-escolares das crianças e influenciam fundamentalmente sua maneira de viver, de ser, de se projetar no mundo. Tanto sexualidade quanto gênero é um tema complexo e reúne vários fatores amplamente configurados por aspectos sociais e culturais. Assim, este estudo objetivou investigar as percepções de crianças da Educação Infantil acerca da sexualidade e gênero, além disso, avaliar a eficácia de intervenções lúdicas. Os participantes do estudo foram divididos em dois grupos. O levantamento das percepções foi realizado por meio de desenhos e as intervenções ocorreram durante as aulas de Educação Física através de atividades recreativas. Após os resultados obtidos, constatou-se que as crianças do Grupo Intervenção apresentaram melhor desempenho no pós-teste em relação ao Grupo Controle e que a recreação pode servir como uma ferramenta metodológica para a aprendizagem da sexualidade e gênero na Educação Infantil.
Body, gender and sexuality are present at all times and in all school activities and interactions and non-school children and fundamentally influence their way of life, of being in the world of designing. Both sexuality and gender is a complex subject and brings together several factors largely set by social and cultural aspects. This study aimed to investigate the perceptions of the kindergarten children about sexuality and gender, in addition, to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions playful. Study participants were divided into two groups. The survey was conducted of the perceptions through drawings and the intervention occurred during physical education classes through recreational activities. After the results obtained, it was found that children in Intervention Group showed better performance in the post-test compared to the Control Group and that recreation can serve as a methodological tool for teaching about sexuality and gender in children's education.
