Conceptions about teaching of Biology: an analysis with educators and students in state schools in the south of Rio Grande do Sul, in São Gabriel - RS

O trabalho investiga o Ensino de Biologia em três Escolas Estaduais de Ensino Médio na cidade de São Gabriel-RS, tendo como base a visão de educadores e educandos. A metodologia utilizada é a qualitativa conforme Minayo (1997) a partir da aplicação de dois questionários, que abordam vários aspectos relacionados as práticas de ensino. O artigo encontra-se dividido em três etapas: a primeira busca uma fundamentação teórica, a partir de uma revisão bibliográfica; a segunda, a partir dos questionários realizados entre educadores e educandos onde apresenta resultados do estudo de caso referente às três escolas e, finalmente como terceira etapa, aponta sugestões sobre como a prática educativa de Biologia possa ser mais proveitosa para os sujeitos envolvidos. Ficou evidente no estudo que os educadores atribuem o desânimo e a falta de estímulo em sua profissão, à falta de incentivo à educação no país e à aspectos que advém desde a formação do educador. A maioria dos educandos afirma que a falta de interesse, muitas vezes confirmada nas práticas educativas, deve mudar com a própria reflexão sobre seus papeis como aprendizes.
This study investigates the teaching of biology in three State Schools High School in São Gabriel-RS, based on the vision of educators and students. The methodology used is the qualitative from the application of a questionnaire that addresses various aspects of teaching. The article is divided into three stages: The first seeks a theoretical basis, from a literature review, the second from the questionnaires conducted between educators and students, presents the results of the case referring to the three schools, and finally as a third step, suggestions for educational practice of biology may be more profitable for the individuals involved. It was evident in the study that educators attribute the discouragement and lack of encouragement in his profession, the lack of promotion of education in the country and the issues that comes from the formation of the educator. Most students said that the lack of interest, often confirmed in the educational practices must change with its own reflection on their roles as learners.
