Abstract

This research was conducted with students from the 6th and 7th years of basic education, who are participants of a Project Science Club (Bioclube) in a private college in the city of Porto Alegre, RS. The aim of the research was to understand how the environmental knowledge is constructed on the students, using geotechnologies in science clubs. First, previous knowledge of the students were diagnosed by a questionnaire. Subsequently, the activities have been planned and implemented in accordance with the diagnosis, involving the interpretation of images obtained from Google Earth TM software, a workshop with GPS devices, and the preparation of posters, among others. For data collection were used questionnaires, class diaries, and textual productions of the students, in addition to observations madeover the activities in your science club. The investigation has concluded that the use of geotechnologies in a Learning Unit on the environment, in the context of a science club, was motivated the students to adhere to the knowledge construction process, revealing that these technological resources favor the construction and reconstruction of environmental knowledge.
