Strategies for health promotion of school approach from the generators of topics

Sabendo da importância atual de inserção do tema saúde no ensino fundamental, e de acordo com as diretrizes dos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais, a proposta do presente estudo foi abordar o tema transversal saúde, através dos temas geradores sobrepeso, obesidade e amamentação. Assim 1.259 escolares do 60 ao 90 anos participaram deste estudo, constando das seguintes etapas: 1) Avaliação antropométrica; 2) Conhecimento e experiências das mães sobre aleitamento materno; 3) Relato dos professores quanto a alternativas de aplicação desta temática em sala de aula. Os resultados deste estudo não evidenciaram uma relação direta entre a prática ou não da amamentação e o ganho de peso da amostra avaliada. Entretanto a aplicação destes temas no contexto escolar deve ser refletida por todos os educadores, a exemplo deste estudo, demonstrando que apesar das dificuldades em trabalhar educação em saúde (ES) na escola, existe a necessidade urgente desta abordagem, a fim de possamos melhorar a qualidade de vida dos estudantes.
Knowing the importance of inserting the current health issue in elementary school, and according to the guidelines of the National Curriculum Parameters, the purpose of this study was to address the cross-cutting theme health through generating themes overweight, obesity and breastfeeding. So 1.259 school children 6o-9o years participated in this study, consisting of the following steps: 1) Anthropometric assessment; 2) Knowledge and experience of mothers on breastfeeding; 3) Reporting of teachers for alternative application of this theme in the classroom. The results of this study did not show a direct relationship between practice or no breastfeeding and weight gain of the sample. However the application of these topics in the school context should be reflected by all educators, like this study, demonstrating that despite the difficulties in working in health education (ES) in school, there is an urgent need for this approach, so we can improve quality of life for students.
