The influence of a workshop theme in student perceptions of early years of elementary education on the environment

No que se refere à Educação Ambiental (EA), é preciso construir um processo permanente, desde o início da Educação Infantil, e contínuo durante todas as fases do ensino formal para que se possa preservar e cuidar do meio ambiente. Desse modo, o presente estudo se propôs a investigar as percepções de alunos dos anos iniciais sobre o meio ambiente antes e após a realização de uma oficina, que teve como temática a EA e os jogos didáticos, a fim de avaliar a influência da mesma na mudança de percepção desses alunos. O estudo foi realizado com 60 alunos do 1º ano do Ensino Fundamental em três escolas estaduais do município de Uruguaiana-RS. Para a coleta das percepções antes e depois da oficina temática foram utilizados mapas mentais que posteriormente foram classificados em cinco categorias. Na segunda etapa foi realizada uma oficina, organizada em três momentos pedagógicos, em que os alunos confeccionaram jogos didáticos utilizando materiais recicláveis e reutilizáveis. Constatou-se que a maioria dos alunos percebe o meio ambiente de maneira ampla e não em dimensões limitadas, pois nos mapas mentais houve predomínio das categorias abrangente e socioambiental. Também verificou-se que essas percepções foram ampliadas após o período de execução da oficina. Logo, pode-se inferir que a mesma contribuiu para a formação dos alunos em relação à EA modificando e/ou expandindo as suas percepções sobre o meio ambiente.
With regard to Environmental Education (EE), it is necessary to build an ongoing process since the beginning of early childhood education, and continuous during all phases of formal education so that we can preserve and care for the environment. Thus, the present study was to investigate the perceptions of students in the early years on the environment before and after conducting a workshop, which had the theme EE and educational games in order to evaluate the influence of the same change in perception of these students. The study was conducted with 60 students from the 1st year of elementary school in three state schools in the city of Uruguaiana-RS. To collect the perceptions before and after the thematic workshop were used mind maps that were later classified into five categories. In the second stage a workshop was held, organized into three pedagogical moments, in which students sewed educational games using recyclable and reusable materials. It was found that most students perceive the environment broadly and not limited in size, because the mind maps were the most comprehensive and environmental categories. It was also found that these insights have been expanded after the execution period of the workshop. Therefore, it can be infer that it contributed to the training of students in relation to EE modifying and / or expanding their perceptions of the environment.
