The understanding of Elementary School Students I about structure and Micro-organisms/cell Functionality

O presente trabalho foi desenvolvido na Cooperativa de Ensino de Central-BA- COOPEC, no período de 2010 a 2012. Trata-se de um estudo com crianças na faixa etária entre 7 e 11 anos de idade. Tem como referencial teórico principal a Teoria Histórico-Cultural, especialmente no que tange a sua contribuição para formação de conceitos científicos. Este trabalho teve como objetivo investigar como ocorre a compreensão dos alunos do Ensino Fundamental I sobre os conceitos de tamanho, estrutura e funcionalidade de micro-organismos/células mediante aulas teórico-práticas ministradas na referida escola. A coleta de dados foi realizada, tendo em vista a pesquisa qualitativa no âmbito geral mediante observação participante. Os registros foram feitos por meio de gravações, anotações e fotografias. Analisamos os dados transcritos e as imagens selecionadas, de forma comparativa, indicando diferentes níveis de compreensão conceitual dos estudantes. Observamos um aumento gradativo nos conhecimentos espontâneos e científicos, envolvendo a estrutura e função de micro-organismos/células, enfatizando a importância destes seres para o ser humano e para a natureza.
The present work was developed in Central Education Cooperative-BA-COOPEC, during the period from 2010 to 2012. This is a study with children aged between 7 and 11 years of age. Has as theoretical main History-Cultural Theory, especially regarding their contribution to formation of scientific concepts. This work aimed to investigate how the understanding of elementary students I on the concepts of size, structure and functionality of microorganisms/cells by means of theoretical-practical lessons taught in this school. The data were collected, with a view to qualitative research in general through participant observation. The records were made through recordings, notes and photographs. We analyze the data transcribed and the selected images, comparative form, indicating different levels of conceptual understanding of students. We observed a gradual increase in spontaneous and scientific knowledge, involving the structure and function of microorganisms/cells, emphasizing the importance of these beings for man and nature.
