Physical concepts in the first cycle on elementary school: a constructivist approach

Este trabalho tem por objetivo divulgar uma pesquisa realizada com crianças, que se encontram no nível operatório-formal de desenvolvimento cognitivo, visando à inclusão da Física no Ensino Fundamental. Procuramos mostrar que é possível desenvolver uma atividade experimental na forma de situação-problema que vise, de um lado, despertar o interesse do aprendiz por esta ciência, e de outro, fazer com que esses alunos levantem hipóteses e expressem termos e significados físicos que já fazem parte de seu repertório e que podem ser “aflorados” na interação do sujeito com o objeto de estudo. A atividade desenvolvida em sala de aula se baseou na proposta denominada “o experimento do barquinho”, sugerida pelo Laboratório de Pesquisa em Ensino de Física da USP. O processo investigativo encontra-se fundamentado nas principais ideias de Jean Piaget. Apresentamos e analisamos os relatos de quatro crianças participantes da nossa amostra, além de apresentarmos os seus relatórios finais na forma de textos e desenhos.
This work aims to disseminate a research conducted with children in the operating-formal level of cognitive development for the inclusion of physics in elementary school. We have showed that it has been possible to develop an experimental activity, in the form of problem situation which arouse the interest of the learner by this science, and by other hand, to make these students raise hypotheses and express terms and physical meanings already they are part of his repertoire and can be "touched upon" in the interaction of the subject with the object of study. The activity developed in the classroom, it was based on the proposal called "the little boat experiment" suggested by the Research Laboratory of USP Physics Teaching. The investigative process has been based on the main ideas of Jean Piaget. We present and analyze the reports of four children participating in our sample, in addition to presenting its final report in the form of text and drawings.
