The study of bacteria and protists in High School: a less conventional approach

O ensino de Biologia apresenta inúmeras possibilidades para o desenvolvimento de aulas diferenciadas, capazes de atrair a atenção dos alunos e ensinar os conteúdos de forma prática. Essa não é, entretanto, a realidade em muitas escolas, nas quais o ensino restringe-se a aulas expositivas ou ao simples estudo do livro didático. O presente trabalho apresenta uma descrição analítica das atividades realizadas com uma turma do Ensino Médio, no estudo de bactérias e protistas, pensando de que forma atividades metodológicas diferenciadas, entre elas aulas práticas, influenciam na aprendizagem dos alunos e no controle da indisciplina na sala de aula.
The teaching of Biology presents countless possibilities for the development of differentiated classes, capable of attracting the attention of the students and to teach the contents of practical way. This is not, however, the reality in many schools, in which the teaching is restricted to expositive classes or just to the use of the textbook. The present work presents an analytical description of the activities carried out with a high school class, in the study of bacteria and protists, thinking about how differentiated methodological activities, like practical classes, influence the learning of the students and the control of the indiscipline in the classroom.
