The Influence of Inquiry Science Teaching on The View of Elementary Students on Scientists

O presente estudo utilizou o ensino de ciências por investigação para verificar se essa estratégia influencia na visão dos estudantes sobre os cientistas. A pesquisa foi realizada com alunos do 6º ano do ensino fundamental, em Anápolis (GO). Os estudantes atuaram como cientistas e percorreram as etapas de uma investigação científica para solucionarem um problema. A coleta de dados foi realizada através de desenhos dos estudantes sobre sua visão dos cientistas, antes e depois de participarem das atividades. Os resultados do pré-teste demonstraram que a maioria apresentava concepções estereotipadas sobre os cientistas. O pós-teste sugere que as visões equivocadas diminuíram após participarem das aulas. O ensino por investigação permitiu aos estudantes perceberem que o trabalho científico é realizado por seres humanos, que também cometem erros, isso pode colaborar para diminuir o desinteresse pelas ciências. Assim, torna-se mais fácil aproximar a ciência trabalhada na sala de aula da ciência praticada pelos cientistas.
This study used the inquiry teaching in science to see if this strategy influences the vision of students on scientists. The research was carried out with students from the 6th year of primary education, in Anápolis (GO). The students acted as scientists and went through the stages of a scientific investigation to solve a problem. Data collection was performed by drawings of students on their vision on scientists before and after participating in activities. The results of the pretest showed that most had stereotyped views on scientists. The post-test suggests that mistaken views declined after participating school. Inquiry teaching has allowed students to realize that scientific work is carried out by human beings, who also make mistakes, this can help to reduce the lack of interest in the sciences. Thus, it becomes easier to approach the science worked in the classroom of science practiced by scientists.
