Abstract

This article presents an interdisciplinary and innovative didactic experience developed by teachers of Mathematics and Sciences, using technological resources to solve a problem. The didactic experience was applied to the students of the 9th grade of the Primary School of a municipal school of Bom Princípio / RS, whose objective was to analyze the deforested area in the last decade (2006-2016) in the communities in which the students live. Thus, the generator problem established: "In the last, in what proportion or deforestation in the student communities of the school". The present research is based on the use of the teaching strategy by means of Problem Solving and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), mainly using geospatial intelligence through remote sensing. Throughout the didactic experience, students interviewed the community, collected data on the web, and used orbital images of Google EarthTM software to solve the problem. Finally, the collected data present strong indications that Problem Solving aligned with ICT are strategies that provide active learning to students, especially when using geotechnologies to solve a problem that is the context of the student. In this way it is possible to train students who are critical, creative and concerned with the environment in which they live.
