"Five adventurous pebbles": geosciences education through theatrical language

O teatro de bonecos foi aplicado como estratégia na abordagem de conceitos geocientíficos e educação ambiental. A adaptação do livro paradidático infantil, Cinco Pedrinhas saem em Aventura, foi utilizada como roteiro na construção das falas e ambientação para o desenvol-vimento da peça teatral, tanto para educação formal quanto não formal. A opção por teatro de bonecos permite a replicabilidade dos personagens, pela utilização de materiais de baixo custo. A manipulação pode ser realizada tanto pelos pesquisadores, quanto estudantes de qualquer idade, professores, e público espontâneo em espaços de educação não formal, etc. A adaptação considerou a manutenção dos conceitos geocientíficos presentes no livro nos diálogos da peça teatral, e que envolvem as “aventuras das pedrinhas”. A confecção dos bo-necos utilizou materiais que permitissem reproduzir as características distintivas dos minerais (pedrinhas), tais como clivagem, fratura, forma, cor, etc. Foram produzidos diferentes bone-cos para cada fase da peça teatral, de forma a representar a ação dos processos intempéricos e erosivos sobre os minerais. A adaptação do livro paradidático com temática na educação geocientífica para o teatro de bonecos mostrou-se como estratégia de ensino que permite su-perar a abstração requerida quando discutidos processos geológicos. Além desse aspecto, ressalta-se que o teatro na educação é um campo de pesquisa ainda pouco explorado.
The puppet theater was applied as a strategy to approach geoscientific concepts and envi-ronmental education. The adaptation of the childrens book, Five Adventurous Pebbles was used as a script in the construction of the lines and setting for the development of the play, both for formal and non-formal education. The option for theater of puppets allows the rep-licability of the characters, by the use of materials of low cost. Manipulation can be carried out by researchers as well as students of any age, teachers, and spontaneous public in non-formal education spaces, etc. The adaptation considered the maintenance of the geoscientific concepts present in the book in the dialogues of the play, and involving the "adventures of the pebbles". The making of the beads used materials that allowed the reproduction of the distinctive characteristics of the minerals (pebbles), such as cleavage, fracture, shape, color, etc. Different bone-cos were produced for each stage of the play, in order to represent the action of the intemperic and erosive processes on the minerals. The adaptation of the para-digmatic book with thematic in geoscientific education for the puppet theater has proved to be a teaching strategy that allows to overcome the abstraction required when discussing geo-logical processes. Besides this aspect, it is emphasized that theater in education is a field of research still little explored.
