TEATRO DE FANTOCHES COMO ESTRATÉGIA AO TEMA LEISHMANIOSE VISCERAL NO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL

Puppet theater as a tool to teach elementary school students about visceral leishmaniasis

Resumo

As ferramentas lúdicas de educação contribuem para o desenvolvimento do aprendizado, dentre elas o teatro de fantoches se destaca por ser uma prática que ajuda no desenvolvimento integral do aluno. Nesse contexto, objetivou-se investigar as contribuições do teatro de fantoches como ferramenta pedagógica lúdica, abordando a importância do tema leishmaniose visceral no Ensino Fundamental. O presente estudo se caracterizou como uma pesquisa descritiva, com uso de um questionário avaliativo. A atividade foi aplicada em uma escola do município de Fortaleza, em turmas de 4ª e 5ª anos do Ensino Fundamental I. Foi elaborado o roteiro da peça intitulada “A morte do cachorro chupeta” e dois fantoches: um masculino (João) e outro feminino (Magda), que conversaram sobre a leishmaniose visceral. Para verificar as possibilidades do teatro de fantoches como recurso para a aprendizagem do conteúdo que se referem a leishmaniose, foi aplicado um questionário com as crianças. Responderam aos questionários, 67 alunos, sendo 52,3% do sexo masculino e 47,7% do sexo feminino. Algumas informações sociais e demográficas foram registradas e sobre a tematização que se refere a leishmaniose visceral, onde a maioria dos alunos responderam acertadamente. Os resultados apontaram que a aplicação do teatro de fantoche para a temática leishmaniose visceral foi positiva, através do lúdico foi possível promover o conhecimento para estimular a conscientização dos alunos de suas responsabilidades em relação a prevenção e controle da doença, tornando-se um multiplicador de ações na escola e na comunidade.

Abstract

Educational play tools contribute to the development of student learning, with puppet theater being a highlight, a practice that can help the intellectual development of children. In this context, this work aimed to investigate the contributions of puppet theater as a teaching tool to convey the importance of the theme visceral leishmaniasis in elementary schools. This study is descriptive, in which a questionnaire about the experience was used as an instrument to collect data. The activity was applied in a school in the city of Fortaleza to fourth and fifth graders. The play was entitled "The death of the peaceful dog" and the script was developed based on a primer issued by the Ministry of Health. The play involved two puppets, a male (John) and a female (Magda), who talked about visceral leishmaniasis. To verify the possibilities of the puppet theater as a resource for learning about leishmaniasis, a questionnaire was applied to the children in the classroom after the puppet presentation. Sixty-seven students answered the questionnaire, 52.3% boys and 47.7% girls. Some social and demographic information was collected also, such as the average age, number of family members and race or color of the student. The other data reflected the knowledge gained about visceral leishmaniasis, where most of the students correctly answered the questions. Therefore, the results indicate that the application of puppet theater to teach about visceral leishmaniasis was positive. The great majority of students were able to learn the content of this subject, and through the playful activity it was possible to stimulate awareness of their responsibilities in prevention and control of the disease, making them multipliers of actions in the school and community.
