Analyzing the knowledge approach in an interdisciplinary perspective for the preservation of the devonian scarp

Este artigo traz a análise dos resultados obtidos de um trabalho elaborado de forma interdisciplinar, que foi desenvolvido em um Colégio Estadual localizado no município de Campo Largo, região metropolitana de Curitiba. Um dos objetivos desta pesquisa foi analisar a apropriação dos conhecimentos adquiridos pelos alunos relativos a importância da preservação da Área de Preservação Ambiental (APA) da Escarpa Devoniana. Os atuais limites da APA se localizam na região do encontro de dois grandes biomas, a Floresta Atlântica e o Cerrado, que possui grande potencial biótico porque abriga grande biodiversidade com várias espécies endêmicas, o que denota a importância ecológica desta área que está situada ao leste do estado do Paraná. Esta APA está sendo ameaçada de ter a sua área reduzida, por meio de um projeto de Lei, sendo que nas últimas décadas, a ação do homem na região já está provocando a destruição de habitats únicos e comprometendo a biodiversidade existente. Foi encaminhado para a Assembleia legislativa do Paraná o projeto de Lei 527/2016, que prevê a redução da APA em cerca de 32% de sua área original. Para que os alunos pudessem realizar uma discussão sobre os aspectos positivos e negativos deste projeto de Lei, fazia-se necessário que os mesmos fossem conhecer esse complexo ecossistema, para auxiliar na compreensão da importância da APA, opinar e argumentar sobre a proposta da referida Lei que seria levada para consulta pública. Parte da APA da Escarpa Devoniana está localizada no município de Campo Largo, na qual se encontra o Colégio no qual foi desenvolvida a pesquisa, o que motivou as pesquisadoras a desenvolverem um trabalho de Educação Ambiental e interdisciplinar, que envolveu principalmente as disciplinas de Biologia e Geografia. Para identificar os conhecimentos prévios dos alunos sobre a APA da Escarpa Devoniana, foi realizada uma coleta de dados inicial, por meio da aplicação de um questionário com nove questões, que seria novamente aplicado após a realização das atividades propostas. Para atuar de forma interdisciplinar, foi proposto aplicar os conteúdos curriculares das duas disciplinas que envolvessem as principais características geomorfológicas da região, assim como os representantes da fauna e flora local, cujos dados foram levantados e identificados por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica. Foi realizada uma aula de campo no Parque Estadual de Vila Velha que está inserido na referida APA. Os alunos desenvolveram painéis ilustrativos das principais características da APA, como uma proposta de integração e sensibilização com a comunidade escolar para o tema. A análise dos dados das atividades realizadas e dos questionários foi feita de forma quali-quantitativa. Ao final das atividades realizadas, os resultados demonstraram que houve a apropriação dos conhecimentos adquiridos durante as atividades realizadas por parte dos 51 alunos analisados no entendimento das seguintes categorias: localização da APA houve um incremento de 61%, na identificação do relevo 71%, da fauna 79%, da flora 85% e no conhecimento sobre o projeto de Lei 62%. Também foi possível identificar os argumentos aplicados pelos mesmos, relacionados com a importância da existência e da manutenção APA da Escarpa Devoniana, nas apresentações realizadas para a comunidade escolar.
This article presents the results of an interdisciplinary work developed in a State College located in the municipality of Campo Largo, metropolitan region of Curitiba. One of the objectives of this research was to analyze the appropriation of the knowledge acquired by the students concerning the importance of preserving the Environmental Preservation Area (APA) of the Devonian Escarpment. The present limits of the APA are located in the region of the meeting of two great biomes, the Atlantic Forest and the Cerrado, which has great biotic potential because it harbors great biodiversity with several endemic species, which denotes the ecological importance of this area that is situated to the east of the state of Paraná. This APA is being threatened to have its area reduced by means of a draft law, and in recent decades, mans action in the region is already causing the destruction of unique habitats by compromising existing biodiversity. The draft Law 527/2016 was sent to the Legislative Assembly of Paraná, which provides for the reduction of the APA in about 32% of its original area. In order for the students to have a discussion about the positive and negative aspects of this Bill, it was necessary for them to get to know this complex ecosystem, to assist in understanding the importance of the APA and to give an opinion and to argue about the proposal of said Law which would be taken for public consultation. Part of the APA of the Devonian Escarpment is located in the municipality of Campo Largo, which houses the College in which the research was developed, which motivated the researchers to develop an Environmental Education and interdisciplinary work, which mainly involved the subjects of Biology and Geography. In order to identify students prior knowledge of the Devonian Escarpment APA, an initial data collection was performed by applying a questionnaire with nine questions, which would be applied again after the proposed activities were performed. In order to act in an interdisciplinary way, it was proposed to apply the curricular contents of the two disciplines that involved the main geomorphological characteristics of the region, as well as the representatives of the local fauna and flora, whose data were collected and identified through bibliographic research. A field lesson was held at Vila Velha State Park, which is part of the APA. The students developed panels illustrating the main characteristics of the APA, as a proposal of integration and sensitization with the school community for the theme. The analysis of the data of the activities performed and of the questionnaires was done qualitatively and quantitatively. At the end of the activities carried out, the results showed that the knowledge acquired during the activities carried out by the 51 students analyzed in the understanding of the following categories was appropriated: the location of the APA increased by 61%, in the identification of the relief 71%, of the fauna 79%, flora 85% and knowledge about the draft Law 62%. It was also possible to identify the arguments applied by them, related to the importance of the existence and maintenance of the Devonian Escarpment APA, in presentations made to the school community.
