The room to te beach: pedagogical proposal for the teaching and conservation of marine invertebrates in a school in Panaquatira, São José de Ribamar, MA

A praia de Panaquatira (São José de Ribamar, Maranhão) exibe grande diversidade de invertebrados marinhos em sua zona de entremarés, além de ser uma área de grande importância econômica para o município, devido aos empreendimentos aquícolas ali instalados. Embora seja considerada uma das praias mais limpas do município de São José de Ribamar e da Ilha de São Luís, tem sofrido, nos últimos anos, vários impactos de origem antrópica. Por isso, buscou-se conscientizar e sensibilizar alunos do 7º ano de uma escola publica próxima a esta praia acerca dos principais problemas ambientais presentes na mesma, fazendo-os refletir sobre a extensão desses impactos e como eles têm afetado a biodiversidade local. Para isso, realizou-se entrevista semi-estruturada, trilha interpretativa e ecogincana em ambiente formal (no espaço da escola) e em ambiente não formal (na zona de supralitoral da praia de Panaquatira). Percebeu-se que os alunos não tinham consciência dos problemas ambientais ocorrentes na praia, a não ser a presença de resíduos sólidos. Através da realização dessa proposta pedagógica foi possível sensibilizar e envolver de forma lúdica os alunos de uma escola próxima à praia de Panaquatira sobre as questões ambientais e sobre a fauna marinha ali presente.
The beach of Panaquatira (São José de Ribamar, Maranhão) exhibits a great diversity of marine invertebrates in its intertidal zone, besides being an area of great economic importance for the municipality, due to the aquaculture enterprises installed there. Although considered one of the cleanest beaches in the municipality of São José de Ribamar and São Luís Island, it has suffered several impacts of anthropic origin in recent years. Therefore, it was sought to raise awareness and awareness among students of the 7th grade of a public school near this beach about the main environmental problems present in the same, making them reflect on the extent of these impacts and how they have affected the local biodiversity. For this, a semi-structured interview, an interpretative trail and an ecological ecogincana were carried out in a formal environment (in the school space) and in a non-formal environment (in the supralitoral area of Panaquatira beach). It was noticed that the students were not aware of the environmental problems occurring on the beach, other than the presence of solid residues. Through the realization of this pedagogical proposal it was possible to sensitize and involve in a playful way the students of a school near the beach of Panaquatira on the environmental issues and on the marine fauna present there.
