Abstract

The traditional view on how teachers should lead the learning process has been changing a great deal over time. The traditional way of work considers that the professor to act as a transmitter of knowledge to students, who would have a passive participation only; to this more conservative practice comes to oppose the new teaching methodologies, under which students must actively build your learning. Based on this second current of thought and considering the importance of the social appropriation of basic knowledge in biology through a scientific literacy of the students, we proposed the use of a work dynamics of the office type of texts. The strategy used was to compare texts with reliable information against fake news, specifically related to vaccination topics. The students worked in groups and in the end produced a list with characteristics indicative that a text has no credibility. The results show that the use of thematic workshops can be a valuable resource for teaching biology.
