CONHECIMENTO ECOLÓGICO LOCAL E PERCEPÇÃO AMBIENTAL DE ESTUDANTES SOBRE O BIOMA CAATINGA E SUA RELAÇÃO COM O CONHECIMENTO CIENTÍFICO
Local ecological knowledge and environmental perception of students about the Caatinga Biome and its relationship with scientific knowledge

Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar o conhecimento ecológico local e a percepção de alunos sobre o bioma caatinga, vislumbrando a construção de estratégias didáticas que contribuam para um ensino significativo e dialógico nas aulas de ciências. O estudo foi desenvolvido em uma escola municipal, localizada na zona rural do município de Surubim (Pernambuco), tendo como sujeitos da pesquisa estudantes do 6º e 7º ano do ensino fundamental, e o professor de ciências da escola. Para analisar o conhecimento e a percepção dos estudantes foram aplicados estímulos para que os participantes pudessem escrever uma redação e desenhar o que conheciam do bioma caatinga. As análises foram feitas por meio da categorização das representações dos estudantes e da análise do discurso do sujeito coletivo. Foi registrada a riqueza de conhecimentos e percepções dos estudantes sobre os elementos bióticos, abióticos e socioculturais que representam a caatinga, e a partir de um trabalho colaborativo realizado com o professor de ciências, foi possível construir um quadro comparativo entre o conhecimento dos estudantes e o conhecimento científico presente nos livros didáticos do 6º e 7º ano do ensino fundamental, o que nos revelou a carência de conteúdos que abordam o Bioma Caatinga, sendo necessário o professor recorrer a outros materiais para suprir a falta do conteúdo nos livros didáticos.
The objective of this study was to analyze the local ecological knowledge and the students perception about the caatinga biome, in order to construct didactic strategies that contribute to meaningful and dialogic teaching in science classes. The study was carried out in a municipal school, located in the rural area of the municipality of Surubim (Pernambuco), with students of the 6th and 7th grades of elementary school, as well as the science teacher of the school. In order to analyze students knowledge and perception, students were encouraged to write a writing and draw what they knew about the caatinga biome. The analyzes were made through the categorization of student representations and the discourse analysis of the collective subject. The richness of students knowledge and perceptions about the biotic, abiotic and socio-cultural elements that represent the caatinga was recorded, and from a collaborative work carried out with the science teacher, it was possible to construct a comparative picture between the students knowledge and the scientific knowledge present in the textbooks of the 6th and 7th year of elementary school, which revealed the lack of content that addresses the Caatinga Biome, and it is necessary for the teacher to use other materials to fill the lack of content in the textbooks.
