CONHECIMENTOS DOS ALUNOS DO ENSINO MÉDIO ACERCA DA ASTRONOMIA: UMA AULA SOBRE O SISTEMA SOLAR
Conceptions Of High School Students About Astronomy: A Solar System Class

Sabe-se que, em muitas escolas, há apenas dois períodos semanais destinados à componente curricular de Física e, com essa carga horária, os professores muitas vezes não conseguem ministrar os conteúdos previstos com a profundidade que gostariam. Nesse contexto, a Astronomia mesmo sendo fundamental para a compreensão do universo, pela falta de tempo, acaba não sendo abordada. Por este motivo foi elaborado um questionário para identificar as concepções dos alunos sobre o conteúdo de Astronomia, e como o conhecimento básico nesta área se apresenta. Foi também, como proposta de intervenção, preparada uma aula interativa sobre os tópicos abordados no questionário. A pesquisa foi aplicada em uma turma de cada uma das três séries do ensino médio de uma escola particular de Porto Alegre. Analisando os dados, conclui-se que existe um déficit de conhecimentos básicos sobre Astronomia no ambiente pesquisado, apontando a necessidade de aulas específicas sobre o tema. Também, com base nos comentários dos estudantes, diante da realização das atividades da aula interativa ministrada, pode-se concluir que o uso da metodologia empregada nesta intervenção foi efetiva, pois despertou interesse e instigou a imaginação dos educandos.
It is known that in many schools, there are only two weekly periods for the Physics curriculum component and, with this workload, teachers often fail to deliver the intended contents with the depth they would like. In this context, Astronomy, even being fundamental for understanding the universe, due to the lack of time, ends up not being addressed. For this reason, a questionnaire was designed to identify students conceptions about the content of astronomy, and how the basic knowledge in this area is presented. Also, as an intervention proposal, an interactive class was prepared on the topics covered in the questionnaire. The research was applied in a class of each high school series, of a private school in Porto Alegre. Analyzing the data, it is concluded that there is a deficit of basic knowledge about astronomy in the researched environment, pointing to the need for specific classes on the subject. Also, based on the students comments, given the activities of the interactive lecture given, it can be concluded that the use of the methodology used in this intervention was effective, as it aroused interest and instigated the imagination of the students.
