Chemistry and Soccer: The Science of a Passion

O Ensino de Química é de grande importância para a formação pessoal e profissional dos estudantes, porém existe uma enorme dificuldade em fazê-los assimilar os conteúdos estudados com a realidade social na qual estão inseridos. A presente pesquisa buscou correlacionar conhecimentos químicos ao futebol, que é o esporte mais popular no Brasil, e assim promover a aprendizagem de forma mais dinâmica e produtiva. A experiência foi desenvolvida com a turma do segundo ano do Ensino Médio Integrado ao Curso Técnico em Administração do Instituto Federal do Piauí – IFPI Campus Piripiri e teve sua culminância com exposições de trabalhos que demonstraram a relação íntima existente entre a Química e o Futebol. Os resultados obtidos foram satisfatórios, pois demonstraram que a Química e o futebol apresentam uma relação muito próxima e despertou o interesse dos alunos pela disciplina de Química. Assim foi possível concluir que quando se associa os assuntos abordados em sala de aula com o cotidiano dos alunos o processo de ensino e aprendizagem é facilitado.
Chemistry teaching is of great importance for the personal and professional formation of students, but there is a huge difficulty in making them assimilate the studied contents with the social reality in which they are inserted. The present research sought to correlate chemical knowledge to soccer, which is the most popular sport in Brazil, and thus to promote learning in a more dynamic and productive way. The experience was developed with the second year of high school integrated to the Technical Course in Administration of the Federal Institute of Piauí - IFPI Campus Piripiri and culminated with exhibitions of works that demonstrated the close relationship between Chemistry and Soccer. The results obtained were satisfactory, as they showed that chemistry and soccer are very closely related and aroused the students interest in the discipline of Chemistry. Thus, it was possible to conclude that when the subjects approached in the classroom are associated with the students daily life, the teaching and learning process is facilitated.
