The International Year of the Periodic Table and a short rescue of its history: implications for scientific education through scientific dissemination

A Tabela Periódica é, normalmente, vista pura e simplesmente como aquela derivada dos estudos de Mendeleev, sem contextualização e que se apresenta colada em paredes de laboratórios. Nesse sentido, esse artigo realiza uma sucinta reflexão histórica voltada para o século XIX e o desenvolvimento da Tabela Periódica e enfatiza a relevância de estudos acerca da divulgação científica para Educação Científica. Além disso, apresenta um projeto de divulgação científica desenvolvido no âmbito do Ano Internacional da Tabela Periódica dos elementos químicos e do sesquicentenário da publicação da Tabela Periódica de Mendeleev, promovidos em 2019, que abordaram a contextualização histórica e o futuro da Tabela Periódica que pode envolver a Teoria da Relatividade Restrita.
The Periodic Table is normally seen purely and simply as that derived from Mendeleevs studies, without contextualization and which is glued to the walls of laboratories. In this sense, this article performs a brief historical reflection focused on the 19th century and the development of the Periodic Table and emphasizes the relevance of studies about Scientific dissemination for Scientific Education. In addition, it presents a scientific dissemination project developed within the scope of the International Year of the Periodic Table of chemical elements and the sesquicentennial of the publication of Mendeleevs Periodic Table, promoted in 2019, which addressed the historical context and the future of the Periodic Table that may involve the Theory of Special Relativity.
