INTERFACES ENTRE O MÉTODO DE ESTUDO DE CASOS E A ABORDAGEM EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIVA
Interfaces between the case study method and the investigative experimental approach

Um dos propósitos do ensino de ciências é promover a alfabetização científica (AC) dos alunos, isto é, fazer com que os estudantes sejam capazes buscar, analisar e articular informações da ciência e tecnologia para tomada de decisões frente a problemas presentes em seu contexto social. Defende-se que tal propósito possa ser viabilizado por meio de atividades didáticas de natureza investigativa. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar a contribuição de uma atividade didática pautada no uso do método de estudo de casos e da abordagem experimental investigativa para promover a AC dos estudantes. A atividade foi aplicada em uma aula de Ciências de uma turma do nono ano do Ensino Fundamental. As discussões dos estudantes durante a atividade foram gravadas em áudio e analisadas à luz dos Indicadores de Alfabetização Científica. Os resultados revelaram que a atividade investigativa contribuiu para o desenvolvimento de habilidades como busca de informações, levantamento de hipóteses sobre um problema, análise de dados, organização do trabalho em grupo, solução de problemas etc. Dessa forma, acredita-se que a articulação entre dois métodos de natureza investigativa – o estudo de caso e abordagem experimental investigativa – potencializa a capacidade dos estudantes em se apropriarem de conceitos químicos e saberem articulá-los em situações problema presentes no seu cotidiano.
One of the purposes of science education is to promote students scientific literacy (SL), that is, to make students able to seek, analyse and articulate information from science and technology to make decisions in the face of problems present in their social context. It is argued that this purpose can be made viable through investigative didactic activities. The objective of this research was to analyse the contribution of a didactic activity based on the use of the case study method and the investigative experimental approach to promote students SL. The activity was applied in a science class in the ninth grade of elementary school. The students discussions during the activity were recorded on audio and analysed using the Scientific Literacy Indicators. The results revealed that the investigative activity contributed to the development of skills such as searching for information, raising hypotheses about a problem, analysing data, organizing group work, solving problems, etc. Thus, it is pointed out that the articulation between two methods of an investigative nature - the case study and investigative experimental approach - expands the students ability to appropriate chemical concepts and know how to articulate them in problem situations present in their daily lives.
