FORMACIÓN EDUCATIVA EN FÍSICA PARA UNA SOCIEDAD INCLUSIVA: LA ELECTRICIDAD EN LA PUNTA DE LOS DEDOS

Educational training in physics for an inclusive society: electricity at your fingertips

Abstract

In this short article, the activity of educational extension of Physics oriented to the learning of a blind student is shared. It was an opportunity to implement inclusive educational methodologies and design resources focused on accessibility. First-year high school students from an upper secondary education institute, the course teacher, student teachers and members of the Physics Department participated in it. In the development of the activities, focused on the needs of a blind student, priority was given to teamwork and the construction of mock-ups of atomic models, some concepts of electrostatics and the effects of electric current. The students answered surveys, from which it is concluded that the resources used were appropriate, both for the blind student and for the other classmates in the group, promoting an adequate understanding of the topics due to the manipulation of the representations of quite abstract contents. As a complement, interviews were conducted with professionals dedicated to working with people with visual impairment, instances in which relevant information on teaching for inclusion was collected.
